A long time ago, I had a part-time job working for a large web company in Singapore. I spent six years there, first as a developer, then as a general manager and finally as a product manager. I learnt a lot. Of course, what I learnt there is generally not representative of web development as a whole. But what I did learn is the importance of a well developed digital ecosystem, the strengths and weaknesses of web technologies, what organisations should do to make sure the web remains relevant in the future. I’ll go into more detail later. But a good web-related web experience is increasingly the first impression a mobile app has on a mobile user.


I strongly believe web developers and companies need to do more to get mobile apps up and running and make them interactive, easy to use and appealing to a larger audience.
